2022 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) announced the winners of the 2022 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award recently. Congratulations to Dr. Yu-Liang Hsu, Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering, for receiving the most significant academic award for youth scholars in Taiwan. In addition to this honorable award, Dr. Hsu also won the 2022 NSTC Project for Excellent Junior Research Investigators and the 2021 Macronix Golden Silicon Award-Golden Award with the first-place position.

Dr. Hsu’s research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence, wearable sensing, and electromechanical integration technologies for intelligent rehabilitation, precise sports science, human-robot telemanipulation, and smart agriculture manufacturing. He published more than ten papers in world-leading journals and was granted several patents for inventions over five years. Besides, he collaborated with National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Feng Chia University, and Chung Shan Medical University Hospital for the development of smart devices for rehabilitation for stroke patients.

Ta-You Wu Award was established to commemorate Ta-You Wu Award by the NSTC in 2002 to acknowledge Taiwan’s youth scholars for their outstanding research in science and technology. The applicants should be under the age of 42. The awardee will receive an incentive of NT$ 300,000. There are 44 awardees in 2022.
