Congratulations to Professor Kun-Ze Lee, Director of the Department of Biological Science, for receiving the 2022 Tien-Te Lee Biomedical Foundation: Youth Medical Science and Technology Award. There are up to four awardees annually, all under the age of 45. It’s an important medicinal science and technology prize in Taiwan. The award is to encourage Taiwanese scientists to further commit their time to medicinal and technology research. His research is to investigate the impact of cervical spinal cord injury on the respiratory system and develop potential therapeutic therapies, such as serotonergic agents, cellular transplantation, intermittent hypoxia, and magnetic stimulation to improve respiratory function.
